Workshop Schedule

Each workshop is 90 minutes and $100 per student.   The schedule is as follows:

Saturday, Jan 28th

  • Signature Sequence – Lyra with Caroline  2:30 pm – 4:00 pm 
  • Aerial Hoop Spin Technique 101 – Lyra with Caroline  – 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm 
  • Intro to Beats & Tempo – Silks with Lynsey – 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm 

Sunday, Jan 29th

  • Helicopter Variations – Silks with Lynsey – 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm 
  • Duo Straps  with Caroline – 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm 

Workshop Description

Signature Sequence – Lyra

Learn one of my signature sequences with me! The basis of this workshop is teaching how
to clean up movement and create seamless transitions, through learning a simple but well
executed combination. This workshop will teach how to be effective in minimalism with
simple tricks to clean up your movement for every future combination. Must be able to
invert. Max 6 students.

Aerial Hoop Spin Technique 101 – Lyra

Learn how to spin with great technique on Lyra. pushing into the spin and seamlessly
manipulating the hoop to start a spin, effectively inverting in a spin, start to generate a fast
spin, understand factors that influence your spin, and sharing the center of gravity with
your hoop.  Max 6 students

Intro to Beats & Tempos – Silks

Learn progressions and foundational techniques for utilizing the power of momentum on
silks. This workshop covers theory of bell beats, front/back beats as well as introduces
practical ground exercises and on-apparatus progressions to explore your unique body
mechanics. Max 10 students

Helicopter Variations – Silks

Tired of a classic helicopter? This workshop will work specifically on helicopter variations:
new entries, exits, positions, tempo, and speed to spice up a timeless classic. Max 10 students

Duo Straps

Learn proper technique on duo straps and some basic combinations! Emphasis will be on
learning to “listen” to your partner and move together both efficiently and effectively. Must be comfortable pairing up with another student. Max 9 students

Prerequisites

Students must have:

  • A solid understanding of the following skills including hip key & inversion from the ground at minimum, can safely climb to the top of the silks and descend with control.
  • Endurance to stay in the air for 3 to 5 min at a time

About the instructors

Caroline Rinny is an aerialist who has performed internationally with Cirque du Soleil and won awards in various international circus festivals in Spain, Las Vegas, and Switzerland for
Aerial Hoop and Straps. She has been featured on America’s Got Talent, China’s Got Talent, and other TV programs across the globe. She has a passion for teaching and sharing her knowledge with people who love aerial, and is excited to help you unlock your flying potential!

Lynsey Wyatt is an international aerial artist and acrobat that loves science but hates sitting. In addition to owning and operating her own aerial studio in Virginia, Lynsey specializes in performing and teaching aerial silks, flexibility, handstands and partner acrobatics. As an intersectional feminist, she believes the personal is political and seeks to build inclusive and affirming spaces by centering community care, safety and accountability.
