Keeping your Impact! Kickboxing studio healthy

To our Ascend & Impact! Kickboxing Fitness community

In the midst of the cold and flu season and in light of heightened awareness in the global health community, we’d like to share some friendly reminders to care for yourself and our community now and always. First, we’d like to express that we care deeply about the well being of our members and staff and strive to provide a safe and clean environment for everyone at all times.

On top of our already thorough efforts to maintain a thoroughly clean space, we are taking extra measures to wash and disinfect the facilities, bags and equipment at Impact. We have also asked that our instructors observe increased caution when offering hands-on assists so as to protect themselves and members from unintended exposure to germs.

Out of respect and compassion for yourself and others, we ask that you do your part to be mindful and considerate. We encourage you to please:

  • Listen to your body — If you’re experiencing signs and symptoms of illness or have any reason to suspect that you are getting sick, please visit your physician.
  • Stay home if you are unwell. Rest, recover and spare others from the spread of germs.
  • Be mindful — Cover your mouth and nose with tissue or a flexed elbow when you cough or sneeze. Dispose tissue in the trash immediately following use.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly and frequently with warm water and soap for at least 20 seconds to effectively kill germs. If soap is unavailable, use hand sanitizer instead. Disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces in your home, car, office, etc. often, especially if you or someone else in the space has been or is sick.
  • Kindly avoid close contact with others who are ill and may be contagious. Refrain from touching your mouth, nose and eyes as much as possible (we often do so without realizing)
  • Eat a nutritious diet rich in vitamins and minerals, hydrate, manage stress, exercise and get proper sleep for overall well-being.

When visiting our studio in particular, please consider:

  • Using the antibacterial soap provided in the restrooms and/or the hand sanitizer placed on the water fountain.
  • Bringing a personal hand towel when working out.
  • For kickboxers, purchasing and using your own hand wraps & gloves.
